1) if you don’t meet the attendance policy including the 5 late rule you will be held out of the next next race you are scheduled to run. Telling me later sorry coach is not an excused absence.
2) we have a two strike rule on language. 1) coach warns you. 2) you miss the next you are scheduled to run.
I don’t care what other teams or other kids do. We have standards fitting for the future leaders of our homes, businesses and Church.
Rules apply to varsity and non-varsity.
The rules are in the team handbook
Here is part of the language rule
EPHESIANS 4:29
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Cross country is hard, and hard things bring out honest reactions. That is not an excuse. Profanity has no place at a Seton practice, on a course, on a bus, in a hotel, or in a team group chat. Younger teammates, opposing runners, course marshals, officials, and parents all hear you, and what comes out of your mouth is part of how this program is seen.
• First offense: one warning from a coach. That is the only one you get, and it carries for the entire season. It does not reset week to week.
• Second offense: you do not run the next race you are scheduled to compete in. You still travel with the team, you still warm up, and you still stay until every Sentinel is across the line. You just do not race.
